What Do I Read Next?

We only have time for a quick look at this readers’ advisory database, so do this as a demo and ask

the class just to watch you.

Point out the various search options: Author, Title/Series, Help Me Find a Book, Award Winners, etc.

Select GENRE SEARCH. Next point out the boxes across the top to limit to age level and fiction or

non-fiction. All boxes are checked by default. Uncheck ADULTS and NON-FICTION. Next, use the drop

down menu for FANTASY, scroll to the bottom and select YOUNG READERS, then click on SEARCH. Let

them look over the results list. Click on one title that is marked as "book description" on the right

side of the screen and show them that detailed record screen.

Finally, click on the link MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS on the left side of the screen just to see the type

of information that displays.
