Parameter is Incorrect

I received the security update notice that is required for my version of Windows Media Player. However, clicking OK results in a "The parameter is incorrect" error with a single OK button. Trying to update the security via > Tools > Windows Media Player Security Upgrade results in the same error.
The "Parameter is Incorrect" error message means there is a problem with the DRM (Digital Rights Management) component of Windows Media Player.
