ESSENTIALS A - OUTLINE FOR WEBEX
2 two-hour sessions on consecutive days
Day One:
1. Set up and introductions - approximately 20 minutes for the first day
Trainer – introduce yourself
Teach the webex functionality (we will have a separate document for this to refer to for all classes)
Class introduction – find out who is in the class
Review what we will cover – outline of the two days’ content and goals
Ask them to have the printouts that were emailed to them on their desks for reference.
2. Gale databases – 60 minutes, then have class do exercises
3. Newspapers – 25 minutes, then have class do exercises
Day one total time apx 100 minutes (plus the exercises times) depending on pacing of demo’s
Day two:
Reminders of webex functionality for participants, answer any questions from yesterday – 10-15 minutes
1. SIRS Discoverer – 30 minutes, then have class do exercises
2. OmniFile Full Text Select - 30 minutes
3. MeL Gateways, Michigana, and Featured Resources, MORE – 20 minutes - no exercises
4. Evaluations and wrap up – 10 minutes – remind them to PLEASE respond to the evaluation survey from the workshop email
(Day two total time apx 100 minutes plus exercises time)
