My Account Overview

My Account allows you to view and make changes to your account from any computer with Internet access. You'll find a link to My Account from any page within the public catalog. Practicing from outside the library? You can use the Michigan Evergreen catalog at https://demo.michiganevergreen.org It's a little different look, but the same data.

  • If you have not used My Account before, you must use your library barcode to login, and your password will be the last four digits of your phone number. If your password doesn't work, contact your library to reset it.
  • The first time you login to your account, you will be prompted to update your password to a more secure password. After updating your password you will be asked to login again, with the new password.
  • Your password must be at least seven characters long and contain at least one letter and at least one number.
  • You can create your own username within My Account.
  • You can always use either your username or your library barcode to login.
  • Use I forgot my password if you have a valid email address in your account to reset your password and have it emailed to you.

Account Summary

Your Account Summary displays your username, phone, email address, street address, and other account information

Click change beside your username, password, and/or email address to update them.

Items Checked Out

Items Checked Out displays all of the items you currently have checked out, their due dates, and any remaining allowed renewals.

To renew, click item checkboxes and click Renew Selected Items.

Items on Hold

Items on Hold displays your current hold requests

  • You'll see your hold's title, author, format, pickup location, and hold status.
  • If your hold is ready for you to pick up, the status will say Ready for Pickup.
  • To Suspend, Activate, Set Active Date, and Cancel multiple holds through the same action, click those holds' checkboxes and choose an action from the Actions for selected holds dropdown menu.
  • For more hold modifications, click Edit.

  • You will see information about the item you are requesting and your contact information.
  • You can edit your phone number, but the change will only hold true for this request. You must ask library staff to update your phone number if you wish to change it permanently.
  • Evergreen will automatically notify you by email unless you disable email notification.
  • You can add or change your email address through your Account Summary.
  • Evergreen defaults to your home library for a Pickup location, but you can select a different location from the Actions for selected holds dropdown box.

Fines

Fines displays any fines or fees you owe

  • You can pay fines and fees at any Grand Rapids Public Library.
  • You can also pay fines and fees online through Evergreen's ecommerce when that becomes available.
  • You'll see a summary of any LakeNet (Lakeland Library Cooperative fees) you may have.
  • You can see details of your LakeNet fines and fees through LakeNet's My Account.
  • You can pay your LakeNet fines and fines at any Lakeland library that is not a Grand Rapids Public Library or online through LakeNet's ecommerce in LakeNet's My Account.

Account Preferences

In Account Preferences you can personalize the look and feel of the catalog when you are logged in

  • You can set how many Search hits per page will be displayed.
  • You can choose your Default Font Size as regular or large.
  • You can choose your Default Hold Notification Method to be email, phone, or both. While this is your default, you can change your notification method for individual holds as you place them.
  • Default Search Location can be your home library or any library of your choosing.
  • Default Search Range can be your home library or the entire library system.

My Account Exercises

1. Login to your account and change your username.
2. Change your password.
3. Change your e-mail address.
4. Suspend one of the holds in your hold list.
5. Renew one of the items you have checked out.
6. Change your account preferences so that the font size appears larger.
7. Change your default search range for holds.
8. Change the pickup location of one of your holds.
9. Increase your search results to 25 hits per page.
