Account Preferences

Patrons/users can set up their account preferences from their account screen. To do this, they need to click on the Account Preferences link from My Account. Users are able to fill in the preferred values offered in each drop-down menu. These preferences only apply to when the user is logged in.

Accessing Account Preferences

1. To access account preferences, log into your account on the OPAC. See Accessing User Accounts for information on how to do so.

2. Click on Account Preferences.

3. To change the Search hits per page, click on the drop-down menu on the right and select a number. This changes the number of results per page when you execute a search using the OPAC.

4. To change the Default Font Size, click on the drop-down menu on the right and select a font size. This will change the font of title results, some system menus and record summaries. It will not change the font for everything, for example, it won't change the font size of the left hand sidebar in the OPAC where relevant authors, subjects, series and keywords are listed.

5. To change Default Hold Notification Method, click on the drop-down menu on the right and select a notification option. If you click on Help next to Default Hold Notification Method, a box will pop up with the message: "This setting defines how you will be notified of holds that are ready to be picked up from the library. By default, holds will use the notification style you choose here. However, you will still have the option to change individual holds regardless of this setting."

6. If you do not want to search your home library by default and you want to change the Default Search Location, un-check the box next to Always search my home library by default and select a library/branch from the drop-down menu below.

7. To change Default Search Range, click on the drop-down menu on the right and select a library/branch.
