Annual Membership Meeting 2004
Pearls of Library Technology
In Celebration of MLC's 30-year Anniversary Friday, October 1, 2004
MLC Members gathered at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing for the 2004 MLC Annual Meeting. This year we celebrated MLC's 30-year "pearl" anniversary! The featured keynote speaker was Marshall Breeding, author of "The Systems Librarian" column in Computers in Libraries. He spoke on trends in library technology and the future of library automation. A panel of Michigan librarians shared their experiences and 'pearls of wisdom' in migrating to new integrated library systems. Cathy DeRosa, OCLC, gave a lively presentation on OCLC's Environmental Scan highlights. And the Annual Meeting was held with updates on MLC activities and MLC Board plans for the upcoming year.
