MeL Delivery Labels
To make MeL Delivery labels:
- Click here to link to the label maker.
- Log in with your library code - it will include the 3 digit delivery zone code, hyphen, followed by your 5 digit MeL Agency Code. In the case of libraries using a central delivery hub or library branches, a sub-library code will follow the MeL Agency Code. Please use all caps when entering your Login Code.
Password: contact Sue Alt if you do not have the password.
- Search the label maker site to find and select the correct library name. (See Tips below) It is highly recommended that you search by MeL Agency code for the most reliable results.
- Select up to 6 library names to print at a time.
- Select either 8.5" x 11" Regular Paper or Avery 6464 Labels
- Click “Make Labels”
TIPS:
- Internet Explorer browser works best to create labels.
- To the right of "Select TO Address" is a Search Box. You may enter either the MeL Agency Code, or library name. If there is more than one library with the search data you entered, you will see a drop down list to choose the correct library. It is highly recommended that you search by MeL Agency code for the most reliable results.
- If the screen goes blank, click on the All Libraries button to restore the list.
- You may also search the list by clicking on a name, and while that library name is highlighted in blue with a *dotted* border, enter the next MeL Agency Code you are searching.
- Participating libraries will appear with the MeL Agency Code listed first, followed by the library name, and then – if applicable – the branch name. You do not have to include the 3 digit delivery zone code when searching.
- Always verify two matching points – MeL Agency code, and the library name.
- It is highly recommended that you search by MeL Agency code for the most reliable results.
- MeLCat requests should be sent to the "Pickup At" location indicated on the lower left-hand corner of the MeLCat paging slip.
- If the book bands and paging slips are missing, try searching the MeL Delivery Participating Libraries list for the MeL Agency Code. You may search the list by clicking on Control -> F [or go to Edit --> Find]. A search box will allow you to search by name, city, MeL Agency Code, etc.
- If you use sticky labels, never place them directly on items belonging to another library. You may attach the label to the book band, or package the item.
- If you are sending enough items to a single destination to fill a bag, tote, or box - choose the library name from the list, then click on “Make Dedicated” to indicate to the drivers and sorters that the bag, tote, or box is going to a single institution and does not need to be sorted.
- If you need a new label for the window on the bag(s) leaving your library, clear the “Selected Address List” by double-clicking any libraries listed there, then click on “Make Bag Label.”
- Labels for libraries that are part of a central delivery hub or a branch will print the central delivery address rather than the library address.
- Ignore the 40000 zipcode -- ProMed does not need zip codes for delivery, but we had to fill the space on the form!
