MathSciNet

Published by the American Mathematical Society, MathSciNet is a comprehensive reviewing, abstracting and indexing database covering items published in the mathematical sciences world-wide from 1940 to present. MathSciNet is an essential tool for researchers, faculty, and students. At MathSciNet’s core is Mathematical Reviews, the print counterpart to this digital resource. Expert reviewers provide signed reviews of journal articles, books, and conference proceedings.
MathSciNet contains over 2 million items with more than 700,000 direct links to original articles. Over 60,000 new items are added to the database each year. Bibliographic data from retrodigitized articles dates back to 1864. Reference lists are collected and matched internally from over 300 journals, and citation data for journals, authors, articles and reviews is provided. This web of citations allows users to track the history and influence of research publications in the mathematical sciences.

In addition:

• MathSciNet is OpenURL compliant so individual libraries can link to local holdings.
• Document delivery services available via CISTI
• 5 mirror sites guarantee continuity of access
• New versions are released annually with enhancements that help both the library and end-user communities
• New items added to the database daily
• Usage statistics provided monthly
• Free 30-day trials are available
• New consortium subscribers enjoy free access for the last 6 months of 2007 if they commit to subscribing for the 2008 subscription year

Contact Brian Austin (austinb@mlcnet.org) at MLC for information and reduced pricing on this important addition to your library’s holdings.

MLC offers discounted rates to its members for subscriptions to MathSciNet. The subscription period runs annually January 1 - December 31.
