DIALOG Service

MLC is pleased to extend to your library discounted rates to the DIALOG online service, a division of DIALOG Inc. Access to databases provided through DIALOG has aided libraries in meeting their patron needs. Fees are charged on a per-search basis. All billing will be handled by MLC for participating MLC libraries.

Enrollment

This service can go into effect at the beginning of any month; and will remain in effect until MLC receives written notice to cancel 30 days prior to termination. Applicants must complete the DIALOG/MLC Service Agreement and return it to MLC. Please contact MLC for a copy of the Agreement.

No deposit is required to use DIALOG through MLC, however, if your institution's usage is anticipated to be under $2,000, a refundable deposit of $350 is suggested. Monthly invoices can be deducted from deposit accounts, saving administrative costs both for your institution and ours.

Libraries with usage over $2,000 are eligible to receive a percentage discount, based on your institution's last twelve months of usage with MLC, minus all telecommunication and tax charges. As an added convenience for MLC/DIALOG participants, MLC libraries may deposit funds anytime during the year to cover anticipated expenses for DIALOG usage. Please contact MLC.

Terms and Conditions

1. Payment in excess of deposits due within thirty (30) days of receipt of invoice; accounts will be considered delinquent after ninety (90) days and service will be discontinued. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars.
2. MLC reserves the right to terminate this Service Agreement in the event of termination of MLC's Agreement with information service suppliers. In the event of such termination, any unused (if any) deposit funds shall be refunded to user.
3. MLC reserves the right to modify any and all discounts, deposit and/or subscription fees and service rates, and such modified discounts, fees, and rates shall be effective 30 days after MLC has given user written notice.
4. User agrees not to assign any portion of this Service Agreement to any other party without the prior written consent of MLC. DIALOG prices subject to change without notice.
5. This Service Agreement shall be governed by and construed in all respects in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan.
